Took out stitches (pic) how does it look?

Hi
I took out Nudges spay wound stitches tonight.
She had her op last Friday, so they have been in long enough.
I could have left them till morning for the vet but they looked as if they were starting to pull and the stitch holes were quite red and look a bit sore.
I think they are ok, but I may take her to the vet anyway as the top part of the wound still looks quite fresh, if that makes any sort of sense.
It's not weeping or anything but I wondered if you thought it looks ok.

it does look red a bit, but i think that it is ok that you took them out. put some beatdine on it, so it will calm it a bit and that it wont infect. the wound itself looks perfectly fine
no vet necessary i think

You'll probably find that they'll go down considerably by tomorrow now the stitches are out.

The stitch holes look very inflamed and possibly slightly infected and the spay wound itself still looks a bit raw so I would advise you to take her to the vet to have it checked to be ion the safe side. My own bitch was spayed on the monday before Nudge so it will be 2 weeks tomorrow. her sutures were subcutanious so no external sutures.

here is a picture of her wound, the black dot at the bottom is a single dissolving stitch.

Hi Caroline I think you will see a big difference in a couple of days now the stitches are out, I would keep a close eye on the wound and go to the vet if you are at all worried.

Susan what a lovely neat job .

Yep those stitch points look a little sore, but now the stitches are out it should start to heal nicely. good job! a couple more days and the infection should start to go.

Thanks all.
She looks a lot less red this morning, so will take her in the sea again today and then give it another clean.
