Well,

I now have nice cans of KD dog food - low protien and low phosphor.

I Have also been given "Fortekor 5" - a heart treatment drug that has also been proven as useful for dogs with CRF.

The blood tests show protien loss and impurities, but was not as bad as the vet had thought - life in the old dog yet!

So a 2 week trial to see if things stablise or not. Then a decision can be made. Good that she doesn't appear in any discomfort, apart from the fact she knows, she can't di what she used to be able to (run chase etc). I think she knows she is in her twilight days. . .

Hi,

Well, the food didn't go down so well with Judy. Was fine by the other Mut though!

Since my last visit, the journey has been a slow but steady downlward spiral . .

Monday is D-Day, as she cannot hold food down, nor keep anything in for long.

As much as i am lothed to do it, it will be better for her. Less suffering and indignity . . .
