Tipsy, Collie X Terrier, DOB 04 - Windsor, Berkshire

Tipsy, Collie X Terrier, DOB 04 - Windsor, Berkshire

Homing Requirements: Tipsy needs a home with at least one other dog. She has successfully lived with cats. She needs to slowly drop more weight so needs an active routine and commitment to spay once she is medically fit.

Her Story: Tipsy was wandering for several days before anyone thought to see if she was stray. Full of fleas, sore ears and very overweight. She did her time at the pound and her fosterer came back for her when she was given a PTS date. She was fostered with another dog. Homed as an only dog with cats. Her owner is wanting a more demonstrative affectionate dog but is happy to foster Tipsy until she is rehomed.

Advert: Tipsy is a pretty small Collie sized dog. She mixes well with children, dogs and cats. She is 'shy' and gently forms her bonds but is happier to sit in her bed or watching out the window. She potters around the garden and trots along on her walks off lead but you need to keep an eye in case she wanders off. She would love the company of another dog and we feel this is what she has missed in her current homing. She travels well in the car and can be left without event so would suit part-time worker.

Tipsy is around 6 years old. She was very over weight when found and slowly has become more trim. She has lost 6 kilos but needs to lose a little more before we can spay her. We need a safe haven for her and home with a strong commitment to slowly reduce her weight so that she can be spayed. She is fully vax'd, wormed etc. Delightful dog who easily plays a background role but has affection in her own way especially during activities ... she loves to offer her belly for rubs. Sweetheart!

An update on Tipsy:

"Tipsy is a really lovely dog. She is very well behaved and has a lot of love to give. She is not a lap dog and when she feels tired will not follow you like a shadow nor will she compete for your attention constantly. She likes her cuddles and a strokes. She will nudge you or paw at you if you are not giving her enough and will occasionally give kisses if allowed.

She get's on well with other dogs but does not like being jumped on or rough play. She loves to run with other dogs and will play chase when she is happy with her playing companion.

She likes children and will happily be stroked and fussed over but would not enjoy shouting or screaming or being jumped on. Older children would be better for her.

I don't think she has had a great life and really needs love and stability. I am very sad that she has not found this in her current home and long for her to find her forever home soon.

Tipsy needs no training, just some help with her weight loss so she can be happier and healthy. She is a perfect dog just waiting for the perfect home.

Everything is crossed that this lovely lady finds her home soon".

If you are interested in re-homing Tipsy please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.
