Fave Songs

I have had the song "Silence is Golden" by the Tremeloes on my brain all day. (Don't they call it an "earworm") an old favourite of mine
Yes, something did trigger it, but we won't go into that

Do you have a favourite song, that once started, you can't get rid of it?
I bet some of you can't even remember The Tremeloes

I work with primary school children, So the songs in my head are usually nursery rhymes/children songs, which i find myself singing often without realising, most embarrassing in the supermarket hehehe

Easy! (I have lots but this sprang to mind INSTANTLY)

Wind of Change - Scorpions. Seen them many times performing live and REALLY wish I'd seen them doing this live in Berlin.

http://youtu.be/n4RjJKxsamQ

Can't EVER hear it without getting the 'prickles'. Even about 25yrs on.

Don't know if it was connected to the famous Harold MacMillan Speech 'Wind of Change' which signalled the 'end of the empire' in the 60s.

I tend to associate it with much more recent changes in the world. Berlin Wall for instance. I hope one day it can be sung in Cyprus to celebrate the end of the division of the country, but I doubt it will be during my lifetime.

I think I was barely a teenager when the Tremeloes had a hit with Silence is golden but I do know all the words and remember Chip Hawkes dad to Chesney.
I have lots of favourite tunes and my kids know all the words cos they were subjected to them in the car. No wheels on the bus for them My youngest always surprises his mates on the music questions on quiz nights
