The bold caps were right enough: more likely his typist doing the "modern" thing of leaving out all the punctuation marks!

In the days when I had a typist, she used to omit all the punctuation, so I used to send the whole lot back for re-typing. They were MY letters, and the punctuation was correct. It was NOT her job to take it all out.

If I ever use letters after my name (which is very nearly never), I use B.Sc. not BSc.

Glad you've all had a good laugh - at my expense!! It gave me a good laugh too - afterwards of course!

Now, I just looked it up at the end of my dictionary, and I AM right, you are supposed to put a full stop inbetween every single letter! I wouldn't have minded if she had maybe thrown a comma or fullstop in after his actual name, or better still left his name in capitals, but changed the frics to lower case! I can see I shall have to have words with her, making me look silly like that!

Me too Vicki, even though the joke was on me! My friend was cracked up, and I was laughing so much I had to go out of the room to make yet another very serious phone call, this time to the Planning Department of the local council, luckily there was no answer, coz I don't think I could have held my composure I was stiffling too much laughter!
