I need a new Vacuum!

Can anyone recommend a decent vacuum that will actually get the dog hair up! Bruce is shedding rather a lot at the moment and my vacuum is useless! It needs to be dumped!
Its a female Henry and they are supposed to be good. Maybe mine is just past its best!

Can anyone recommend one that doesnt cost a fortune please?

Well I have had a Miele Cat and Dog vacuum cleaner since 1996 and it is fantastic, not cheap but the Which? magazine rates it above dyson etc etc

All I can say is do not get a Russell Hobbs Pet Cyclonic 2000

http://www.petcyclonic.co.uk/2000W.htm

as it is useless.

[Edited to say Murv posted while I was typing but he has the upright version]

My mum's always been a Miele fan - she got given one by someone who didn't know the brand and she loved it.

I'd be interested in what's recommended too as ours is on its way out from the sounds it makes. Don't want to splurge out though as it'll be for communal use for the moment, I'm treating myself to a nice one when we have our own place!

Miele cat and dog here. I have had lots of different cleaners over the years including 2 dyson and none of them has been as good as the Miele.
