I've had Hondas for years. CB500, CX500, CBX Blackbird, CB250...
Not one car, however, although my Rover had a Honda 2.7 V6 engine, and it was glorious, and so reliable...

My sister has a CRV a new one, its nice, drives well, but a bit "plasticy" inside. Have you considered the Toyota Rav4? My sister has had 2 of these and these were super, of course Toyotas are as reliable as Honda and good back up too. I think the insurance is cheaper on the Rav4 too. just a suggestion.

I did look at the Rav 4's....can't remember why I didn't pick those....think they might have been more expensive lol

depends on what you want to spend - just be careful when looking that they havent been used to tow caravans as this is excessive wear and tear on all the parts and I would be wary of that.

We saw some real tired ones for similar money.

Ours was a private sale. B ut we did look at the auctions and autotrader too.
