Limping.

I took Mo for her boosters this morning. Then we went to the beach on the way home.
All was well, she had a good run on the beach and as usual was reluctant to come home
About half hour after our return she started limping, and I mean limping. She was reluctant to put her right leg to the ground and seems unable to weight bear at all.
I have rung the vets and I can take her back at half 3.
Any ideas about what is going on?

Sorry, it could be several things - presumably you've checked her paws for objects/cuts etc?

You've only an hour or so to wait to see the vet now - do let us know how she gets on - I hope its nothing serious

Thanks Hali, yes we have checked her paw and can't find anything. It seems to be her "wrist". It is a bit swollen and feels warmer than the other one.
I've just taken some luncheon meat out of the fridge, cos she will kill for it usually . She did try to get there for it but couldn't make it.
I will let you know what the verdict is later.

Last week Rufus had a limp for 24 hours with nothing obvious to see. He just sat down for most of the time and then next day he was fine again. Still don't know what it was. Perhaps a sting. Hope that it is nothing too serious for Mo.

Ok we have been to the vets and he found a puncture wound on the side of her wrist.
Hubby now remembers she had an altracation with a JRT in the woods this morning.
For some reason this little fellow doesn't like Mo and will often go for her when they meet
The Vet reckons this is what happened he must have caught her front leg.
Anyway Mo has had a antibiotic injection and a pain killer and now she is fast asleep on her bed.
She has another 5 days antibiotics to take and hopefully she will be back to normal.
Panic over

Thanks everyone, she is fine this morning, till she remembers she should be limping
She soon ran into the kitchen when I was cutting up the chicken for the stew

Like the others, glad to hear it's nothing worse, though it was good to get her straight to the vets and on the abs - it must still have been quite painful for her not to put any weight on it.

I'm sure she'll be back to normal in no time
