What is a "Dompy"?

If I say to Pereg "do you want a Dompy", which she loves, what do you think it means?

It is not food and it has only recently been called a "Dompy"!

It is ear twiddles! If I pat my thighs just above my knees Pereg comes to me, sits down and puts her head on my lap for ear twiddles, and I sing to her while I twiddle her ears. And sometimes I sing "dompy dompy dompy dompy dompy dompy dom" to the tune of a piece of classical music that I like.

Only now, instead of patting my thighs, if I say "do you want a Dompy" she trots over and sits down with her head on my lap - and a dreamy expression on her face!

She is so sweet at times.

Awwwww. I have an image in my head now of a sleepy Pereg having her ears twiddled while being sung too.

Malka, that is so sweet - I can just visual you singing your little 'Dompy' song and Pereg sitting there with her head on your lap. She's a clever girl to learn that 'dompy' means what it does

I do actually sing "Dompy dompy dompy dompy dompy dompy dom" - to this music http://tinyurl.com/yzvnqxp and the "dompy" words actually fit it! Mind you it does tend to change to different tunes and different words, such as "tiddle om pom pom" and suchlike, but Pereg knows it as a "Dompy", and the ear twiddles sometimes lead to me holding her scruff each side and sort of rubbing her neck.

All this, of course, is utter bliss for Pereg, who frequently wants more when I stop!

She drives me nuts at times but it is impossible to stay cross with her for long when she is so very sweet and affectionate most of the time.
