Rawhide chews...

After my 'brilliant' thread re canned food... I thought I would ask if anyone feeds their dogs rawhide chews... I ask this cos the large one Jamie got bought at Christmas gave him the squits But he had a good boy minty roll last night and he loved it

I used to feed them quite regularly, then my last dog tried to swallow the knuckle end whole one day and couldn't bring it back up himself and it was a trip to the vets pretty hastily, I've not fed another one since.

china loves them but only get about 6 a year......but i dont get ones with nots in as she tries swallowing them !

All of mine get them all the time, every day, also pigs ears, it keeps their teeth clean and helps stop plaque buiding up, I never give them the crumbly coloured ones, I don't like the mess they make all over the floor.

Jamie does tend to have the whitish cigar shaped ones.. at Xmas he did have a yellowy bone shaped one, that had little bits inside.... omg everytime he ate it he had the squits!!!

I used to until one one occasion after about 8 hours both dogs started being sick and bringing up big chunks of undigested rawhide up, they were ill for days so now they only get pigs ears.
