Acht true as it is, the shysters will have an answer for everything and just chuck more onto taxes.

What's the statistics I heard a while ago? For every £10 of petrol spent, £8 goes to the Government, or something outrageous like that

er except for pedestrians, cyclists, motorbikists and people in smaller cars etc ........

safer for you perhaps.

imo unless you can make a legitimate claim for a 4x4 then you shouldnt have one to judst drive around town in etc ...

yes some cars emit more ad they should also be taxed heavily imo.

btw the tax increase for 4x4's will only be about 30 quid,

if ya can afford the 4x4 sure ya can afford that :P

well if everyone watched were they were going they would be safe !!!

and you can get a 4x4 for the same price of a normal car so dont start saying that £30 quid is affordable - do we get cyclist to pay road tax even though they use the road? - NO!

Even though I drive a large 4 x 4, I still am no less considerate than I would be driving a normal car. The ONLY reason I drive one (other than being a dog mobile) is because the roads in and around Edinburgh are so bad (the tarmac ones have even more holes than the cobbled ones) and I've lost count of the amount of people who have huge repair bills because of this (me included in my old car).

Yes, I can afford a bit extra but why should I have to pay it when IMO I am a responsible and genuine 4x4 owner and don't use it as a would be status symbol.
