Good morning Brenda and all who follow

What a shock for you Brenda but at least she has now made contact with you again so perhaps it can progress.

I think it is time to start shouting Chris. It is no fair that people should be without heating because the engineer doesn't seem to be bothered to fix it. Obviously something very wrong if 5 flats are without.

Dull and damp here. Teazle walked, been into town to the bank and bagged al the leaves Barry left in a heap on the lawn telling me it was easier for two people to do. I think it is a trip to the tip this afternoon. Last night when Ben got home I helped put the handles on the wardrobes in all rooms so another job off the list. Will have to help him buy school uniforms this weekend and hang the curtains that are left to do.

Hope all are well. Take care

Morning all
Brenda....I bet that hurt. Maybe as sue says...at least it's contact and who knows where it will go from here? At least you now know she's o.k
Sue, bless you...you must be worn out with all the extra work
Well, Steve got his car...after 2 days an engine light came on, I called the rac out who said what the fault was....I called my mechanic who took £50 off Steve for undoing 1 bolt, to say I was fuming is an understatement. He told Steve it wanted oil, filter and plugs doing....Steve asked me to get a quote, I asked....no answer, 4 days later didn't quote for the work but started on about needing to check a pipe.... when is Steve available? I said every morning.... nothing, then this morning, Steve's first day off, he messages me at 7.15 saying that he had asked another mechanic to take a look and gave me his number....I only asked for an price for oil and filter and plugs. Anyway, there's a fella lives local, got a garage, got a really good reputation....I contacted him, within 10 minutes i had a price for the work and Steve took the car over today.....he fitted a sensor I had bought....for free, pointed out a cable tie holding something that should have been a metal clip fitted one for free, found the source of the oil leak that Steve failed to spot when buying the car and did the oil and filter, plugs and rocker cover gasket for £240......and the warning lights have now gone out of their own accord! My mechanic was taking Steve for a mug as it's obvious he knows nothing about cars....I won't be recommending him again and hopefully my dad won't be dealing with him either

Afternoon brenda, Sue, griff and all to follow.
Started off misty here earlier now the sun is out, busy trying to tidy everything so I don't have to much to do over Christmas.
Paul and Beth got broken into yesterday, a guy broke a hole in their patio doors and the key was in the lock and he was unable to undo the door. Phoebe disturbed him and Bun their eldest Lab chased him off with Betty hot foot behind her.
He got away with nothing and no one thankfully hurt. Beth had literally pulled off the drive to drive 5 mins to the co-op he must of been watching the house they have camera footage of him. George now 16 was upstairs good he had been chased off by the dogs if George or Paul had found him he wouldn't be in a good state now.
To think I always felt so safe living next door, Beth thinks local to know the layout of the gardens, I wonder if also someone has done a job for them in the past.
Then I read another lady with Labs further down from there got burgled overnight, sheds emptied ride on lawnmowers stolen expensive equipment in regards rotavator and tree loppers etc., Came in from a road at the bottom of the land they own.

brenda what a shock, good contact has been made though maybe things will move forward from that.
Sue you deserve a medal.
Glad the car is now sorted griff shame about the first mechanic.

Keep safe and well everyone.

Lynn, so sorry to hear about Paul and Beth.....I am pleased that nobody was hurt, is there a neighbourhood watch thing? We don't have one in our street but there's one for the area and I registered my cctv on there.....if anything happens we get an email with time and date to look for

Yes there is griff. I joined not long after moving in and I think most of the residents join. Of course I am no longer a member.
Also being a village people share information on the community board on social media and most people have some sort of security doorbell or camera so the perpetrators face gets splashed about very quickly.
Fingers crossed they get him quickly.
Glad you are pleased with the decorations.

well dump trip done and now gathered up more leaves but hopefully they will gol in the wheelie bin when it gets emptied. Also managed this afternoon to clear the roof gutters on the front of the house. Got two builders type black buckets of moss leaves and sludge, one gully was full of moss so water now won't lap over the edge and under the tiles.
