You know sometimes its better for it to be sudden and to have to take the decision there and then rather than go home and know whats going to happen the next day

Phil, I'm so sorry to hear your news, especially as Tweed has been also been having some heart/lung problems lately. You will know in your heart when the time is right, and 16 years is a good lifespan. It is a horrible time, the worst part of dog owning. I'm sure we are all feeling sad for you and your boy.

Oh Phil I am so very sorry to read this about Skye. My thoughts are with you and your family, it's a horrible time, I know. Skye has been loved thoroughly, and she loves you all back. A very tough decision, but one made out of love.
