Am dreading the car insurance this year n might have to give it up, am looking into alternative mode of transport. You've been wise and done well to shop around.

When I got my insurance renewal quote from a well known ladies insurance company, it had gone up £195 from last year - that was with 5 years NCB!! I went online and got a quote for £200 cheaper from a well known supermarket (every little helps!!!). When I phoned to say I wouldn't be renewing, the sales person said "Well lets go through your policy and see what we can do", I replied "Unless you can knock £200 off, you can forget it", he replied "OK, so you're not renewing with us this year, hopefully you'll return to us in the future".

I had same thing this year too! I looked online and saved over £200. I am paying over £20 less a month than what I was quoted by my original insurer.
It always pays to shop around!
