Monty, male Jack Russell Terrier, DOB 2008 - Birmingham
Monty, Jack Russell Terrier, DOB 2008 - Birmingham
Homing Requirements: Monty needs a terrier family who understand how to 'work in' with terriers and gradually relieve them of the over powering burden of protecting their pack and property! Monty needs a family to humour him when he is too serious and bring him into the command role of 'come' 'sit' for treats. Currently living with older children His issue is introductions to new people and he needs to expand his friendship circle.
His Story: Monty was rescued when he was around 3 years old, 2 years ago. He lives with a 3 year old lurcher and his family. 'As good as gold' generally within the home. Does accept a few known visitors. Now the daughter's baby is due home and the family cannot trust him around a crying baby especially a distressed premature baby'. Monty is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Monty is still with his family but due to come into kennels near Godstone, Surrey soon.
Advert: Monty certainly is a "butter wouldn't melt" chap in the heart of his family. Yes he'll bark at noises, passers-by and everyone knows when the postman is on campus! Monty has a little too much 'gusto' so has to have a measured method to calm him meeting visitors and visitors need non-intrusive counselling as he can be concerned about overfriendly people entering the home and approaching outside. Excited meeting dogs outside and so he needs to live in a low dog density area.
Monty is a 5 year old little tan & white short coated, short legged Jack with a huge personality. His new owners will give him time to settle and trust and keep him pared down to size with a matter of fact manner. Monty will begin to take note so that he doesn't set the agenda but is integral to his families activities and life style. Gentle and firm; needs all the family to work in with him so he appreciates that fun that is on offer, with a skip and hop!
