Super Smart Animals

Anyone watch it?

Catch up here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...als_Episode_1/

Part 2 here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...als_Episode_2/

That monkey was amazing! And I reckon the Bulldog learned to skate so it could cool him down

The animal that struck me the most was the bird using bread for bait to catch fish!

Incredible.

and to take the bread out so the fish that was too big didnt get it!!

Its scary how much better at solving some of the puzzles the animals were than us humans - and we invented the puzzles!

Beautiful and beautiful....
The young whale calf deliberately taken by its mother to meet humans.
The bonobo talking to people.
The elder sea lion that had learned so much...
The whales in the first episode that did bubble nets to catch fish.
And yes I loved the heron!

What was not to love about any of those programmes?

We watched some of the first programme with the sea lions etc. and I would loved to have carried on, BUT, that commentator gets up my nose too much, she grates on me like fingernails on a blackboard, I suspect she's another Blue Peter drop out, and hasn't got around to realising she is now talking to adults! Shame, would loved to have carried on with this fantastic programme.

It certainly was incredible. It left me wondering..............Just HOW MUCH do we under estimate the intelligence of the animal kingdom? They say that humans only utilise 10% of their brain, could certain animals be using parts of the brain that we haven't tapped into yet? We judge other animals' intelligence based on our own, that programme really got me thinking that we have got so many things so very wrong.

What I found amazing (or maybe a bit irritating) was that presenter going going on about how amazing it was that scientists have now proven that animals have the ability to feel emotions and solve problems. Don't see why you would assume otherwise tbh. Living animals like us, so I find it strange that someone would assume birds don't have memory and other animals don't feel emotions, until proven otherwise...

One of the best things I've seen on television recently. Particularly loved the first part.
