Well I didn't need my tissues. Maybe I'm a bit of a nit-picker, or over critical but some parts of the film were a bit of a let down for me.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the heart-warming story and it was brilliantly directed but I wish I'd read the book instead.

My friend and I had intended to take her two granddaughters aged 8 and 10. When we realised it was a 12A we changed our minds even although they could go accompanied by an adult. What do those of you who have seen it think?

Personally, I don't think it's suitable for children of 8 and 10. There are some fairly graphic scenes of war and a potentially very upsetting scene with the horse and barbed wire. I think you made a good call.

I have seen it and I made my OH watch it too, even though he isn't really into animal films... We both enjoyed it..

Thanks for that I think my friend and I will just go and see it ourselves. Mind you I don't do graphic war so wonder if it's suitable for me!!!

Amazing Movie!!! I LOVED it!

A couple of parts were a bit too Disney (made the horse seem more human than horse) But there was only a couple of spots like that...

And the barbed wire nearly made me puke! But the part after made me laugh (the german and the brit)

I did cry at the end. but then homecomings always make me cry... Homeward Bound and Eight Below always bring on uncontrollable tears!

I'd never heard of it til I seen this thread. Is it one where you leave feeling really sorry for the horse?
