too much advice!

Everytime I take Charlie out, I get someone giving me puppy advice, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's awful
We went to the park today, it's 5mins from the house over a busy road but he is used to traffic and it doesn't phase him.
A woman stopped and admired him, then proceeded to tell me I must have frightened the life out of him bringing him across the road! Her next bit of advice was to just give him 1 meal a day as G. Retrievers are greedy!
He is 14wks old!! (he is a bit greedy ) but still!
I couldn't get away fast enough.
This isn't the first time I have been offered unwanted "advice" and maybe it's just me but I wouldn't dream of telling anyone what to do with their dog within 2 minutes of meeting them!
Apart from this we had a great time in the park, In Charlie's case 15mins in the park and 2hrs to sleep it off

Some people just can't help giving advice. Still at least you don't have to take it!

Yes it's soooo irritating isn't it!
I found I got the most advice from people who either didn't have dogs, or had been a dog owner for five minutes therefore knew it all!
I try not to give advice unless (a) I am asked my opinion or (b) the health or welfare of the dog is genuinely at stake. Sometimes I don't want option (a) because the answer is unrepeatable.....

I found with Max (and will probably find with the new pup) that people who offered me advice either don't have dogs or have very unsocialised dogs....

As for feeding once a day! Pah!
