Glasgow Central to Glasgow Queen Street

Hi,
Does anyone know what the distance is between Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen St railway stations and is it within walking distance. I am going home from WELKS next Friday via these stations to get the connecting train to Aberdeen. On the map it looks like a short walk but others are telling me that it is a least a mile and a taxi trip.

It is only a short walk of only a few minutes. There is also a shuttle bus that runs between Glasgow Central and Queen Street I think.

Thanks for that Carole. That has put my mind to rest as I was concerned that the train out of Glasgow Queen St is the last of the day and I can't afford to miss it

Should be ok even if the Virgin train is delayed 15 minutes. The taxi rank is just outside the central station so if pushed you could always take a taxi.

Not many taxi's take dogs now though, I know round here they don't, I tried to get a lift to ringcraft on monday as my usually I get a lift but my friend was ill, I rang EIGHT taxi companies and none would take a dog, one said it was something about the new insurance and they weren't insured for animals.

Just something to check incase you can't get a taxi. The stations aren't too far from each other though so you should be ok

It is hackneys outside the station and Ive travelled in them before with a dog. I suppose it depends on the driver whether they allow dogs but there are loads of them all queued up the street.

Was just thinking with the one way systems you would probably still be quicker walking

I agree it's 5 -10 minutes walk tops, by the time a taxi goes round all the lights at George Square you could be there on foot.
