In the Middle East yoghurt is the dairy product of choice (for obvious reasons) and honey is often still put on wounds etc.

I used to suffer terribly from the squits in my first year and that is when I discovered the healing properties of yoghurt and honey.

And garlic, black tea

I am quite expert (unfortunately ) in gut problems in humans, and fortunately since feeding raw have had practically no issues.

One of my dogs eats 1kg per meal and the other less than half of that, but they love yoghurt and the bowls are always licked clean as are the pots.

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention the tea. Herbal type tea without milk.

I've never been a tea drinker but I now do drink the fruit and herbal teas. So refreshing - esp. cold in summer.

The BIGGEST complaint of most Brits over here who are hospitalised 'that they don't get PROPER cuppa' lol!

I think these Greek Surgeons and Docs know what they are talking about and doing.

Smokey - in the ME they put Yoghurt (and lemon juice) on EVERYTHING. We put parmesan on spag bol - they ladle yog on it. We put vinegar on salad - they put lemon juice on it.

Hey - they live longer than we do - I've happily adapted to the Eastern Mediterranean diet with all the fresh fruit, veg, pulses, nuts, yoghurt etc.
