Is it ok to feed raw veg to my dogs?

Hi, I've got 2 english cocker spaniels who both love raw veg. Just
wondering if there was anything that they shouldn't eat?

Hi Jane1965 and welcome to Dogsey.
My lot love raw carrots but thats about all I've given them. There'll be lots of good advice to follow from other members, I'm sure.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think anything that contains starch is bad.. Maybe someone who feeds a BARF diet will be able to advise more appropriately..

My two love their veg.. carrots, broccoli, cauliflower pretty much most things... mostly I chop it up really fine or blend it into a pulp but they will gnaw on a carrot like they do a bone...

As was said... avoid the starchy ones

I have fed most veg raw but the ones to avoid are too much garlic, tomatoes, onions and potatoes ( member of the same family as deadly nightshade and not good raw)

Most veg is fine but not onions. Have a look at this link you need to scroll down or use the link on the page to read about the veggies

All my dogs have eaten raw veg. As soon as I started doing the vegs for a meal they would turn up waiting for the middles out of caulis, etc, We had an old lab who used to help herself to potatoes from the sack if she could get them, and pinch the raspberries and strawberries from the plants in the garden, but luckily she didn't like rhubarb.Kath Kath
