Milly - Cocker Spaniel
Milly is a five-month-old, female Cocker Spaniel, who came to The Mayhew because she had bitten every member of her household. She is an extremely affectionate and sociable dog whose tail wags non-stop. She enjoys her walks and is very good when off of her lead. She usually gets along well with other dogs and is good with cats. She also loves her teddy bears. Unfortunately, she has received no proper training or guidance and has come to her own conclusion that the best way to get what she wants is to snap.
Milly's new guardian should be an experienced Cocker Spaniel owner, and ideally someone who has owned snappy dogs before. She will need to go to training classes and to be taken right back to basics. She is good with strangers and will happily greet them unless there is food or toys around, which she becomes protective of. She does not like being approached by others, but will happily approach and make friends herself. She is not used to being left alone and will therefore need a new guardian who will be at home most of the day.
Milly is currently in a foster home in Wales, so prospective new owners should be prepared to travel. Her new guardians will be taking on a fifteen-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.
