Obedient or what!

This made me laugh, and I still giggle about it when I think about it

A couple of days ago, I took my friend to the local lake, to help pass the time while her cat was being spayed, we sat by the lake edge, just enjoying the ducks, Geese, Swans and other wildlife just get on with their lives when this Retriever x came ambling up to us and said hello she was very sweet and extremely friendly, so we petted her, her owner said 'oh, she loves all that' then it turned into

'Pip, don't go in the water now'

'Pip'

'Pip, come here, don't go in the water'

'Pip, no!'

(big sigh)

'Pip, get out the water'

Anyone else had this problem

Oh yes, very familar ~ usually the day after bath day! Mine goes:
"Barney, don't go in the muddy puddle"
"Barney, don't splash around in the muddy puddle"
"Barney, don't go in the pond"
"No barney, pleeease don't go in that disgusting swamp"
"Oh Barney, why did you have to go in there".

I obviously can't compete with the delights of filthy water

That made me smile

At least her owner was resigned to the wet/mud... I met someone with a border terrier yesterday (on an extendable lead) who was shocked that I was happily playing with mine in the water.. he said 'oh my dog would love to do that too but I never let him because he would make such a mess of my car' . So sad

Welllll, only one of mine would go in anyway so i'm not fussed!

Made me laugh though, more like when they want a roll in a fox poo.

Yup!

Exactly that converstion with Jasper this week, also the day after bath day, he was so shiny and sweet smelling (for once!)
Stoopid stoopid me, I really should have known better than to take him anywhere near the stream so soon after bathday!
He looked so happy and pleased with himself though so couldnt stay mad at him for long!
