If You Could Give Only One Line of Advice for Dog Training..

I was thinking earlier, possibly inspired by watching another cringe-inducing episode of Dog Borstal, if you could give only ONE line of advice regarding dog training and behaviour, what would it be? I thought long and hard about this today, as there are so many, what I consider crucial things, but if I really had to pick just one, it would be:

Your dog will never be a child, don't treat it like one.

Any more pearls of wisdom?

You'll never be happy until the dog you want is the dog you've got - so train don't complain!

Dogs always repeat what they find to be rewarding so, using patience, kindness and consistency, ensure that wanted behaviours are more rewarding than unwanted behaviours.

fantastic advice everyone!

I think mine would be...
be kind, be consistent, be patient, ignore the bad reward the good and you won't go too far wrong.

It's a long line I am afraid ...

Try to see the world through the eyes and with the mind of each individual dog, use patience, consistancy, kindness and understanding and don't expect instant success or perfection
