I have just read the jockey club rules on use of the whip. I didn't see anything about the horse being marked except a reference to the horse having to be looked at naked by a vet----but no rule on marking.

Could you point me to that rule please?----obviously it exists as you know so much about it and I must just be looking in the wrong place.

I am learning so much from this thread. I do like having facts to back things up.

Where did I say there was a rule on marking? This is your problem, you need to read, I said if the Horse is marked the punishment is much worse!

The whip rules are excessive force and frequency, not giving the Horse time to respond.

I think they are all the same, cushioned things. I did have a race crop I picked up off a course years ago, dont have a clue where it it though.

last year my friend who shows shires cracked me across the back of my legs when i had shorts on not gonna lie it fu**ing killed me!!! they dont hit the horses that hard though, they barely even use theirs actually... and we were pratting about, but i will go with if you get hit full whack it hurts, but thats me and im a wimp
