flat coat tips

I have heard good and bad things about drying coats so was wondering if anyone had any good tips for keeping a long coat flat .......I have cavaliers ?

Pair of tights, legs cut off, dogs back legs go through the holes that were the legs, make a hole for the tail and a couple of small holes at the front for front legs. Don,t dry the hair fully brush it flat and then put them on the dog. Finish drying gently with the hairdryer. It does work
