Confession time

As many if you know, I used to be pretty anti raw feeding for a number of reasons. I am, however, always willing to listen, so attended a days seminar with Nick Thompson about it! I was won over!

I am slowly starting the dogs on a raw diet. I am to do it the Nick way (a third meat, a third meaty bones and a third veg/fruit). I know everyone does it differently but that is my aim at the moment.

I am really lucky to have the advice, support and help of some experienced people, a lot in breed, who have been amazing.

So far they have tried more veg than anything and herbs but they have also had chicken wings and lamb hearts. It's VERY early days but we are all loving it so far. I am enjoying the variety I can offer. No doubt I will have lots if questions!

Excellent news, you'll wonder why you didnt try it years ago!

I still get excited about feeding my dogs raw and they've been on it full time for over 2 years now.

Good luck Ailsa.

I would love to know more about this! I only feed dry kibble and it must be so boring. Would like to give Bruce more variety.
Hope it goes well for you!

Honestly, now I have fed raw, there is no chance that I would go back to kibble/commercial diets. 4 years on and mine still get so excited at meal times, and they looks so much healthier, happier and full of energy (but im a calm way..if that makes sense)

Not only that, I have found that RAW is so much cheaper than commercial

Thanks both of you, it is exciting! We are all there as new meat is introduced, loving their reaction. I have ordered a couple of books and today I am going to sit down and plan next weeks food...
Cachapman, I am sure people on here would help. The message I have received is that ANY move away from processed is a good move

Kerriebaby we priced it up using Tesco
Meat and worked it out as an average of about a pound a day!

Congratulations!

Nick is very charismatic is he not?!

I have been feeding raw for 10 years now and cannot imagine not doing so.

Good Luck!

I've been doing it for about a year now and it's a lot easier than I thought it would be. We dived straight in and changed overnight and they all took to it really well. Never had any problems at all although 2 of them don't seem able to cope with the texture of tongue, and kidney needs to be disquised but apart from that they're game for anything.
