Labrador (10) sadly needs a new home.

My neighbour has just been round to ask if I knew of anyone who would offer a home to a 10-year-old black (I think) labrador bitch. Unfortunately, her owner suffers from dementia and now needs to move into a nursing home, so her companion of ten years is looking for a new home to live out her days.

Unfortunately I can't have her at the moment, and neither can my neighbour. I suggested the Cinnamon Trust, so my neighbour will pass their details on to the lady's son. I might print out their contact details to give to him but thought I'd post here first in case anyone had space for an old girl, or has any other suggestions. I know this sort of thing must happen all the time - it's so sad.

Thanks in advance guys.

Wish I was closer cos I would take her in if she was ok with other dogs.
Hope something comes up soon, Lab rescue is a good idea.

I'm not too sure, but will find out tomorrow (neighbour goes to bed very early) and get back to you.

I'll double check with my neighbour tomorrow that she's still looking and will contact some Lab rescues if so. I'll also try and find out what she's like with other dogs. I'm sure the family would be prepared to do some travelling to ensure she gets a home - will try and get some more details.

Thanks so much everyone - it's a situation that I dread being in. Poor old dears.
