Trust.....

Well - I have had my boy now for 8 weeks! (Gosh - seems like forever!)

We have had some really positives (in amongst some worrying) moments.

However - slowly slowly, this pup is beginning to trust me.

He has been quite happy for me to do anything to him for a good few weeks,so much so that I almost did not notice when he actually started asking for attention.

However - 2 nights ago - as I was sat by the PC - I noticed I had a dog on my lap, he is not pushy - just there
He is now finally using me as a safety net (we met a very scary log today) but with the help of a bit of food and me getting a wet bum sitting on it, he finally came to realise that it was not going to attack him!

We are certainly not there yet - and I have a feeling there will be many more ups and downs - but now I have finally earn't some trust it suddenly seems all so much more possible

Just had to share - I'm proud of my boy

Awww what a lovely story! So glad he's beginning to trust you and see you as his protector. May there be many more happy moments like this!

So lovely. It's really special when they realise that you're there to look after them and you see a change in them for the better. I'm not surprised you're so proud

wont stop him if he takes after his big bro

..onwards n upwards

maybe I'm just used to more independent dogs
it takes time to earn trust whatever the species...don't see why any intelligent creature should trust humans blindly..'like' maybe,..but trust?

He has been a challenge - and we are certainly not 'there' yet - but its a big step forward!

Indeed - oddly (or maybe not) it always seems SO much more special when they make you work for it - Pip was the same (and that took 18 months)
Tassle is not the most trusting dog in the world either....really I do seem to pick 'em don't I!

Sorry had to laugh at the thought of you sitting on a log to show him there was nothing to worry about
Nothing better than getting some good behaviour's that makes wet bums so worthwhile xxxx
