Dog first every time, no question. If the injury was severe to me and the dog was also hurt I would make sure the dog also sought immediate treatment (e.g make my hubby/friend take the dog to the vet and me hospital alone etc). So still in a way dog first in that situation or at least equal.

Poor dog

My friend and I were out with our dogs. Daisy and her bitch had a nasty fight, which I separated then her other dog steamed in and bit part of my finger off.
My friend is very proud of the fact that she called the ambulance before she called the vets.
Then she picked me up at the hospital a few hours later, after taking the dogs to the vet.
Priorities, guys.

Dog's first, everytime!

If I was dying whilst the dog was injured, then I'd be on the phone to my friend, and she'd have the dog at the vets before my ambulance arrived!

if she could fit a plaster over the wound it couldnt have been as bad as she was making it out to be
I was thinking the same to be honest. Ears tend to bleed a hell of a lot in my limited experience. I had an awful experience one night when Rupert had run through some bushes, there was blood everywhere and I thought for sure we'd have to get to a vet and get him stitches. Closer inspection showed a cut about a quarter of an inch long that quickly closed over once we stopped him shaking his head every few seconds. I looked like I'd committed a murder by the time we got home though

Dog first everytime if I am still capable of walking and talking.

I can judge and convey my own level of pain whereas the dog cannot speak to me and tell me how bad it is so the dog would always get priority.

Even if out of hours and possibility of an emergency vets visit i would still assess the dog's injuries and call the vets to ask their opinion on bringing him in.
