CSI Courses John Rogerson

Canine Crime Scene Investigation: This is a course where the first two days are spent training you and your dog to become a super sleuth. The two training days consist of team building exercises, relationship building exercises, tracking, arson detection, explosive detection (we don’t use real explosives!), drug detection (we don’t use real drugs either), fire arms detection, and almost every exercise connected to controlling and having lots of fun with your dog. For the final two days you’ll be working in a
team of dogs and handlers and attempting to solve a heinous crime using your canine detective and your powers of observation and problem solving skills to solve the case.

**Please Note** This course is not intended for law enforcement officers as it is a fun mystery course designed to create new ideas for running dog training classes where there’s a real purpose and end result to the training.

For this course you bring your own dog, leash, food treats, and lots of toys and enthusiasm. No prior training is required, but as your dog will be expected to be social able around other dogs and team members, no aggression problems please.

Dates for the Canine Crime Scene Investigation Course:

At Tawd Vale, England
May 11th – 14th, 2012; 4 day duration 9.30 am-4.00 pm
To register contact Karyn McCarthy at Karyn.McCarthy@guidedogs.org.uk

At Andover, England
2nd-5th August, 2012; 4 day duration 9.30 am-4.00 pm

Sounds a lot of fun, I'd love to have a go. Looks like first thing I'd have to find would be a sociable dog though

I contacted one of the organisers in Scotland to do this course last year at Gorebridge, but never heard anything back I would have loved to do it.

I would be grateful if you hear of it being run anywhere near Edinburgh again.

Did you contact Yvonne Walker at Dacregan?

She is a JR Associate.

I did, but remember being told by one of her club members that it was a members first, so perhaps all the places were filled. It would have been nice to have a reply though
