Gender

I have noticed that there is a gender imbalance on the forum.
I don't have an issue with that. I just wondered if anyone can explain why it is?

Obviously fewer men join.
No doubt car forums are male dominated.
Knitting forums are probably female dominated.
Whatever floats a persons boat.

Quite.
But why do fewer men join? That really was my question.
Cars, football, I can understand the gender interest.
Knitting and, to a lesser extent food, I can understand.

But dogs? I don't get that. I meet a lot of dog walkers and, at a guess, females outnumber males. At least where I usually walk.

Not a big deal. Just a point of curiosity.

Same thing tends to happen at training classes. More often than not, it's the wife who comes along.

I guess that, despite this new era of equality, women more often take on the caring role

(now ducks in case anyone shoots )

There is a gender imbalance because of all the sharp tongued, man haters that inhabit this forum. Frequently male contributors are put off by their plain nastiness towards people of the opposite sex.
This was posted by way of gauging the sense of humour of the "good ladies" of Dogsey and is very much tongue in cheek.
Hope there weren't too many members had a stroke well before getting to the end of the first paragraph.
Sorry! - Just couldn't resist!

Oh Gordon. I often have a stroke of a very handsome male called Tyto and another called Dexter, a very handsome Goldie. Enjoy your time away and we will all wait with baited breath for your return.

I beg to differ on that as I think you will find that Tyto is but then I am biased like you are. So lets beg to differ and agree that all our dogs are in our eyes the bestest. But I do have to say here that the judges can't be wrong.
