Thank you, Diesel is amazing today, he's seems to have bounced back already and has been happy to see people, I'm gonna head up to the police station today, I've been told that if I make a fuss we might get something actually done.

So many irresponsible people out there lately. I am beginning to wonder if it is worth owning another dog again.

I would have a word with the Police
Thank you, we're gonna head up there today, where I wouldn't be without my dogs, I am annoyed by certain people who seem to think that its ok to allow this to happen.

Good luck with finding the culprit.

Thank you, unfornatly all I know is that the dog was a brown and white Staffy, the owners were around my age, the girl had long blondish hair, and the boy had short brown hair, and the dog was called Charlie, but I don't know whether that will help, but if they are know to the police for this thing maybe they will know who it is.

Take care all of you, it sounded like a very traumatic experience for you all. Greyhound shaped hugs on their way from Phil and Paris xxx
Thank you, Diesel seems ok, I think I'm more upset then him, and other people who can see his injuries after last night are more affected by them, he had a horrible night, but has woken up with the joys of spring, I don't know how he does it, but he seemed more fussed that he couldn't chase the squirriels this morning rather then about his injuries.

idiot owners, id report it, if nothing else they will have it on record what this dog has done
Thank you, the vet receptionist said that if the dogs been reported before they may be forced to muzzle it, I hope so though, as I really don't think that this dog should be off lead and unmuzzled.

Thank you, I have to say, it wasn't until after it all happened that I actually realised what could of happened, at the time all I could think of was getting Diesel free, but after wards when I saw all the blood both on me and Diesel my hands were shaking.

People ARE prosecuted for dog on dog attacks whatever may be said about it here or anywhere else; so report it to both the police and dog warden.

Insist on an incident number; and pursue it.

I am not sure if everyone is aware of the organisation Justice for Dogs? It is worth EVERYONE joining for legal advice and help is at the end of the phone.

http://www.collienet.com/justicefordogs.htm

Why should ANYONE be at risk from this sort of behaviour? There is no need to and if this had happened to me, there would be no avenue I would not pursue.
Thank you, we're heading to the police station today to see what they say, and I'm gonna look at your link, I'm also hoping to catch the guy from the council who works in the park soon too, although he only works mon - thurs I think so I couldn't get him today, but I'll see him on Monday and speak to him then.

The emotional distress caused to both of you, the physical harm to the dog and then the shock setting in after the practicalities is obviously at the forefront of your mind, but until and unless ALL such incidents are not only reported but pursued, they will continue.

Poor Diesel and poor you What an awful shock, you must be livid. I hope Diesel recovers quickly and isn't too traumatised by the event. I absolutely agree, purue this with the police and hopefully no other dog will need to go through what your poor lad did.

Please go to the Police. They CAN do something and if they say otherwise, they're trying to fob you off.

You can insist on a crime number/incident number and you can make a statement. Ensure you tell them you had to put your safety at riskto save your dog's life and that you want it taking further.

let them know what these people, and their dog look like. No doubt from from the lad said their dog has had a go at other dogs. Also, I'm sure that others will recognise them.

Definitely put posters up everywhere in that area with a note below stating what dog did this to Diesel.

Do you have a local/free paper? COuld you place an article or get your local news team to do a report on what has happened? When things like this become public knowledge those responsible for the bad behaviour tend to either disappear or deal with it properly.

Good luck. Lots of hugs from me and mine.

You really must tell the police and the dog warden, OK they might not do anything, but if it happens again to you or someone else at least they have a record.
People like this make me sick!!!! I am so lucky as where I live they are all responsible people and where we often walk, we very rarely see any one else.

Sending gentle hugs to Diesel, I have a special place in my heart for lurchers and greyhounds.
xx
We don't have a dog warden round here, well as far as I know anyway, I've never heard of one, but thats why I'm really trying to catch the guy who works in the park, I've spoken to him a few times, and he's good with dogs, so I'm hoping that he will know what I can do.

I hope he heals quickly, such a trooper. I know I've never met them, but I feel like I know Honey and Diesel, send him hugs from me and Axel please
Please keep us posted
I was really annoyed that they left Honey too, I mean thats the only thing I asked them to do, and they couldn't even do that for me! Must admit, I love pretty collars, but after this, I don't think that I'll undervalue a basic Greyhound collar again, and yes I'll give him hugs from you and Axel, that is when I'm not giving him hugs from me aswell.

Poor Diesel,
Well were gonna try today, but what I'm annoyed about is that there is CCTV in the park, so it would be seen, but they only turn on the CCTV from 6pm-6am where it is basically useless when it gets dark as theres no streetlights in there or anything.

Thank you, I think Diesel may of forgotten already, he's not showing any signs, and is his happy self today, happy to see everyone, and trying to chase the squirrels and join in with other dogs chasing birds, I can't believe it, he's been such a brave boy.

Thank you, I'll make sure I tell them everything, and tell them that I now know that they can do something. We have a windowtowallingford and a round and about, and even a jump ahead that gets delivered to all or most of the houses round here, so I might try and get what happened in one of them at least, but thank you, I never thought of that.

Try this, not sure if it is still current but you should be able to click a dog warden in most places.

Oh poor Diesel - and all the other dogs that keep getting attacked. Those photos made me weep and also made me realise how lucky in that my Vet came out for Pereg to clean and staple her wound when she was attacked in our front yard.

The Local Authority would not do anything about the attack on her but the dog catchers were out in force just a few days ago because my non-working non-social worker [who has never followed up a message I have left on her answerphone, let alone pop in when she is on the Moshav], apparently said she had been bitten by a dog down the road "somewhere".

I am not sure how many, if any, of the stray dumped dogs they managed to collect, but the "Quarantine, Rabies Alert" signs are up again at the entrance to the Moshav, and woe betides anyone here who's dog is picked up for running loose and with no record of a rabies shot.

Please give Diesel special "get well soon" doggy huggles from me.

It's people who make me nervous of staffies. I love the breed but you can never tell these days and it's a shame idiots are allowed to get ahold of these dogs and ruin it for everyone.

They just walked away and left their dog tearing into yours? How ridiculous...

I can't say how bad I feel for you and how sorry I am that you had to go through this.. I hope Diesel is OK soon - poor boy, he'll get over it quicker than you will.

I'd carry some spray round with you, it's ridiculous that we have to protect our dogs from other dogs - they should all be socialised. BTW - if you'd have put your finger behind the top of the jaw - you know where wisdom teeth grow - that should've loosened the grip more..I've done this when the dogs wouldn't let go of a toy...

Hope he gets better soon and the woofs send him slobbery kisses - and you too x x x
