Thats a real good idea Karen and you would never notice a quid a day. I should have done something similiar when i quit smoking cos i get asked how much money i've saved.

I got a terramundi pot my aunt saves all her £2 coins I think allot of people do that as I rarely get any!

But those machines take a big whack of your money for counting it for you..... 10-15%.

When I had to count my poppy appeal money my OH suggested using one, but we aren't allowed because they take so much, and as it was about £1000 that would've been a lot lost.
So I counted it all by hand and needed my OH to help me carry it to the bank lol.

I'm definitely going to give it a go . I could set up a standing order at the bank that just transfers £7 from my current account to a savings account, but that wouldn't be anywhere near like as much fun

They show you how to smash it so it only takes the top off and you can then use it as a planter though

We always have a tin in the house that we use for this and it works really well. There's something about physically putting the money away yourself that makes it fun!

Love them pots becky,

I do put £1 away a day in a piggy bank and this pays for our long weekend away to wales every year, its a great way to save
