I think this always happens when a breed has the limelight for a while. Unfortunately a lot of people with little or no knowledge about a breed and what its requirements are will fancy having one - thats why I don't want the flatcoat to win

Something else I noticed about some of the handlers that they wore dark colour clothes when they had dark colour dogs. I thought the idea was to wear a contrasting colour so the dog stood out against you well? When I am showing Parker at local dog shows I wouldn't wear grey trousers, I wear pastel pink ones.
I know the men probably wouldn't want to wear pink but you could have beige trousers if you have a dark dog.
