Tracking lines

Can anyone please recommend a good, (soft on your hands) tracking line?

I currently have a rope type one which I bought from a gundog place, but it is quite heavy and also burns my hands if the dog sets off at a pace.

Thanks.

And I wear these when tracking

Good idea about the fingerless gloves Nick, and I like the look and sounds of the JH tracking line. Thanks for the recommendations

I have a rolled round leather one which I have been using for 12 years.

I prefer leather as it does not snag on bracken or undergrowth.

The downside is it does get slippery when wet.

To combat this I have fingerless riding gloves which gives a good grip.

If your hands are getting burned, then your line handling needs improving!

That is another plus for round leather ones they slip through your hands easily.

One treatment with hot water and hydrophane has resulted in no after care required apart from a wipe down with a damp cloth.

It was made for me, and has beein in almost daily use (sometimes several times a day) since I acquired it.

I do also have non slip one from here for certain situations, and at certain stages of training, but I would never use it apart from on grass or rolled plough.

It is light, non slip, never need gloves and is easily washable.
