I feed a mix of good quality kibble that has no wheat, corn or soy, (one of my dogs is sensitive), with higher protein than a lot of the regular commercial brands. I mix it with Honest Kitchen base mix (I am in the U.S. and I'm not sure if this is available worldwide) which is a veggie and fruit mix that comes dried and you rehydrate it with water. It was being used by the foster Mum who I adopted my last dog from so I switched my existing dog to it as well. I have 9 year old and a 3 year old dogs and it suits them both. My vet always comments on how glossy their coats are and they are healthy, happy and full of waggy tails!

I feed raw due to Bailey being allergic to commercial food.

My puppy is finally back on hard kibble! I think I had to soften up her food because she was teething. She either got used to the shape of the kibble or never disliked the shape and it was just all about teething.

Anyways, she looks perfect. I tend to think she looks a bit skinny but she just has a very pronounced little waist. No bones are showing, so I guess she's all good.

Anyone ever try this? http://www.primalpetfoods.com/

I also feed a bit of whatever 400cal+ canned food I feel like buying. Plus table scraps, which my family looks down on me immensely for. Yesterday it was roast beef and mozzerella!
I would love to feed raw or homecooked meals, I really would, but its totally unfeasible at this point in my life, for many reasons. Props to those that do!
My girl does really well on the Canidae though, and I've tried several other foods before settling on this one, but this works by far the best for us.

Shredded cheese
A squirt of beef flavored Glucosomine supplement
Perhaps some sausage or meatball and a bit of sauce
Then maybe a cup of warm water mixed into the whole mess
I try to rotate additions to please Sophie...finicky beast she is...Callie would eat a brick if it was in his bowl.

Not the premium brands and not perfect nutrition but if they were any healthier they'd be scary. I think they're fine with what they have.
Aw. I can tell you just love your K9 buddies.
