Diabetes means that you can.....

NOT Eat sweets
NOT Eat sweet things
NOT Eat pastry
NOT Eat nice tasty things

Not to use a Jacuzzi
Not to use a Foot Spa
Not to have a hot bath
Not to have a cold bath

Not to have a massage
Not to have refexology done on your feet

Not to get too cold

Have your fingers pricked every few hours
Have a gallon of blood taken every year
Expect to lose some fingers/toes. legs
Expect to go blind
Expect to have heart trouble
Expect to have kidney problems
Expect your bits and pieces to pack up (down below)


Would you like diabetes?................ I don't!

Then to cap it off, you can't find a partner becaus of diabetes!

That's quite a list! I am at high risk of this so I may have that to look forward to as well....
Not sure about the link to not finding a partner, most situations can be got around by substitution or change in approach, none of that would put a genuine person off, for myself, the following would have me running in the opposite direction:
1. Bad breath
2. Ill temper/bad manners
3. Dictating to me on everything
4. Not liking dogs
5. Drink problem
6. Drugs problem
7. Extreme, er, practises not to my taste
8. Religious nuts (ie extreme followers, not their choice of creed)
9. Poor table manners
10. Not changing underwear daily
etc, etc.....
Or am I just fussy? No wonder I'm on my own!

Ian, unless you are wearing a t-shirt that says 'I am diabetic please don't speak to me' it's not going to make much difference to any genuine person.

I must admit when it said religious nuts, I had a picture in my mind of a peanut dressed like a nun and thought 'aww what's gill got against that?'

"Not changing underwear daily" that can also apply to woman! I used to work with a lass, was about 18 and she used to wear her thong for 3 days, she used to turn it around. YUK!! And she used to let everyone no.

The thing i hate more than anything is having to wear shoes/slippers round the house.
I have always been told that it does not mean you can never eat sweets but have to keep such a close eye on yourself it takes all the fun from eating nice things.

Expect to have kidney problems, Time in hospital with a bad infection, worse pain I ever felt.

and expect to go for a medical every year to keep your driving licence, or if you're an HVG type, throw it in the bin !!

Why can you not find a partner with diabetes.
If I found someone genuine, diabetes wouldn't put me off in the least.

Now the things Deccy listed would put me off big time.
