Sore pad (histiocytoma + post-operative update)

I have noticed a 'lump' on one on Teagans pads when looking at her feet today.
it is on the 'side' of the pad, and is bright pink, with no hair, and doesn't seem to be as rough as a pad is.

She flinches a little when I touch it...any idea what it could be?
Would a piccie help?

I don't know what it could be. Perhaps a reaction to a foreign body - seed, thorn, etc? Any sign of an 'entrance' wound?

A photo might help to idenify what it might be, but if it is causing her pain I think you should get a vet's opinion.

No sign of any entrance wound that I can see.
It's actually next to the pad, where normal skin/hair should be - it has tiny hairs starting to go through, so they look like black dots.
Will get a pic soon!

Could be an inter-digital cyst. These are inflammatory reactions and not true cysts and may open and drain pus. I would get a vet check as she may need antibiotics. If it was elsewhere on the body I would say histiocytoma, but not sure if these occur on the feet?

I mentioned it to the specialist yesterday - she thinks it could either be a foreign body, or some sort of growth.
If it doesn't go away, she said Teagan will need anti-biotics.

Hevvur Amy had a similar paw to that last year..the vet and I could find no cause...like a thorn or bite but Amy would not walk on it..she had to have antibiotics and I soaked it in hot salt water which my vet said was a good thing to do.
Poor old Teagan..she is in the wars...

I will soak it daily when Teagan comes home.
As she won't be on her feet much, it may give it a chance to heal!!
Thanks Mini!
