Inflamation of Bursa in hip

Does or has anyone suffered with this? I have just been diagnosed with this and its bloomin painful I can tell you. My doctor is trying me on Naproxin, to see if that will help. If you have or had it, did it respond to treatment well and has it recurred again?

My friend has it and she had physio but nothing much has worked for long.

Try biofreeze on it---that helped her a bit.

Terrible pain in the outer side of my hip. Painful if I press on it, cannot sleep laying on that side as pain keeps me awake and the pain wakes me anyway even if not on that side. Climbing stairs makes it worse, I have difficulty getting in and out of car and not very good range of movement. X-ray ruled out arthritis in the bone.

It comes as a spray or a tube and sort of makes the area very cold. Our chiropracter stocks it but you can get it on line.

I might look into that, but will see how the tablets go first as I hate cold things

That would have been a cortisone injection, which if the tablets don't work I will try. Unfortunatly that only lasts 4-6 weeks though, unless its not too badly affected in which case it may keep it at bay a little longer.

I get it on and off. Luckly not had a attack for a while now. It is super painful!!!! I found that if I slept on anything too soft I will wake up with it, so firm mattress for me!
I take diclofenac (sp?) it is one step up from Naproxen, which is what I was started on. And have not had any trouble for over a year now. Hope you get it settled down fast and forever!
