New from Texas

Hi everybody, I'm new here, although I am on some other forums. I can't wait to get started here, it looks like there is a ton of info. Here's a quick bio of me and my dogs:
I'm the oldest in a family of 10 kids. I chose not to go to college after I graduated high school, but instead landed on a dog grooming for my career. I've been working with dogs professionally for 4 years now, (although I've been around dogs since I was born. ) and have been a groomer for 2 yrs. I hope to become a certified Master Groomer within the next few years (we'll see how it goes, lots of studying to do!!) and want to start competing in grooming competitions this year. I joined this forum because I want to learn more about some different breeds, the English Springer Spaniel and Scottish Terrier to be exact. I need two more dogs (a sporting breed and terrier) in order to be more serious about my competing. Hopefully I can get the info I need here.
I own (or am owned by, which ever way you want to look at it. ) 4 dogs. Trevvor, a Miniature Poodle, just turned 1 yo. I absolutely adore him, he's the best. He absolutely overflows with personality and a love of life. I hope to do agility with him, although he recently suffered an injury in his back knee, so we've been holding off on starting. I got him from a breeder who is a friend of a friend...actually, he was given to me as a show reject!
Sammie is (I think) a Blue Lacey mix who is about 2 yo. I picked her up off the side of the road one day and just never rehomed her. I love her to death, she has such a quirky personality! She loves to be with her people and bark at the wind.
Dusty is actually my mom's dog, but I still live with him so I count him in with the rest of my pack. He's a 2.5 yo Lhasa Apso who packs a big attitude! I'm constantly having to remind him that I'm his mom, not the other way around. Of all the dogs, he reminds me most of a little kid....
Pepper is a 13-14 yo ACD mix. I've owned her since she was 8, but she lived with my family ever since she was like 4 or 5. (Long story.) Thankfully, she's doing great! She still acts young, no one believes me when I tell them how old she is. She's absolutely the sweetest girl, she loves everybody. (If you have a cookie or a ball, she'll love you more. )
Whew! So that's me and my furkids in a nutshell. I'm looking forward to learning lots of new things here.
