Keeping a mother dog and pup together?

This question is just out of curiosity. ..my daughter asked me and I didn't know the answer

If a dog has pups and you keep one of them, will the mother always be motherly to the pup, even as it grows up?

My dog is spayed so it will never be an issue but I did think it was an interesting question. Apologies if this is in the wrong section...I couldn't see where best to put it.

We have 2 pairs of mother and daughter here. I wouldn't say that either of the mums are still motherly towards their daughters, or supportive in any way. One mum has a 6yo daughter, the other a 4yo daughter.

I have one mother and daughter. The puppy is five months old. Bonnie plays with her but she gives up before the puppy. Luckily I have a three year old that just loves to play with the pup. The three year old is spayed and never had pups but she is a great baby sitter.

Thanks for replying

That is interesting. I will pass that onto my daughter. She does ask some challenging questions!

You can put the pup to his mother but the mother always not be motherly to the pup. As the pup will grow, mother would be not supported many times.
