Hello from Chicago

Hi Dogsey Community,

I am new to this wonderful community. I am the proud mom to a 2 year old Shihtzu/Poodle mix named Roxy. She is super cute and my family adores her. That said we are encountering some bad habits that I need some advice on (jumping up on guests when they enter our home and aggressive behavior towards bigger dogs and other small dogs sometimes).

I am blogging about my experiences with Roxy which is nice. The blog is also a part of my new business efforts since I am developing an iphone app for dog lovers launching in December.

Hi Heather and welcome Your little dog's behaviour with the aggression sounds as though it is 'fear based' possibly from not being socialised with other dogs enough when young. Try walking her with 'friendly' dogs so that she learns that other dogs aren't going to eat her. I'm having to do this with one of mine to re-build his confidence as a result of being attacked by another dog.

My son is off to Chicago in a week or two - very hot there at the moment I gather
