Brenda, the water pump has gone but as it is a bmw it is an electric pump which needs to be set up with specialist bmw software which sadly simon didn't have, local indy is going to do it for £470...just got to get it recovered down there

Evening everyone back from London.
Lovely day picked up the ring they had a hard job sourcing the diamond it is an 8 sided cut which isn't done anymore and that added a bit more to the repair price but it is good to have it back.
Then onto the Swann inn for the lovely afternoon tea one of the presents from Michael and Maca we will do the globe tour another day. Tea was delicious and we ended up bringing some home there was so much.
A very wet but lovely day.
Dillon has been a star as usual.

Happy birthday week Nippy Jen.
Sorry the car cannot be fixed griff.

Hope everyone is well and all four legged friends.

Glad you enjoyed your day out, the cakes look lovely I would have one if you haven't eaten them already

SWMBO has a ring with an 8 sided cut I think, it's very old. Chances are that yours might have antique value on top of the stone and ring value. You could take it to the 'Antiques Roadshow'

Been raining more or less all day, I took my wooley hat and coat, no umbrella 'cos I can't manage two dogs and an umbrella got wet but not too much. Saw two people carrying big sticks.................hmmm I really should do the same

Griff I had no idea that BMW use electric motors to drive their water pumps. I suppose the theory is that if there's no fan belt to break you can still drive home.

Lovely photos Jenny, and what a good idea no more birthdays, just birthweeks

Moyra, good to see you pop in. Have you asked about pets at the place you mentioned You never know they may say yes.

Hope you're all doing well, don't let the wet weather get you down.

So pleased you have your ring back Lynn and the cakes look lovely!!
Harvey...rounders bat! Small enough to go up a coat sleeve, hard enough to hurt like hell lol
Apparently the indy guy did 3of these pumps last week!! Was so much easier when they were manual, could have sorted that myself!! It's in such an awkward position, i have never seen a water pump right at the bottom of an engine before!!
Harvey, it has a serpentine belt...goes round the power steering pulley, air con, alternator...one of the commonest things i had to do when the cars
were new was the customer would come in complaining of a squeal and clicking...sealant in the grooves of the serpentine belt, used to have to run a fine blade flat head screw driver through it to dig it all out
Got to be up early to sort a recovery truck out....boo, just lit my candle from Ikea...smells lovely
