Bought a Canon A3300 IS

Hopefully this will last longer than my Olympus and Fujifilm.

I bought judging by specs and canon's reputation. But any ideas how the camera performs when put to the test?

I don't like reading the reviews because I know I'll only be taking photos of the dogs and possibly a few flowers.

I don't own a compact haha, i have a pentax indestructible thing, that i couldn't kill, then lost the battery... smart.

I really abuse my SLR haha, i'm so bad, the screens broken, but the rest of it still works. Touch wood!

Generally the only way you can really break compacts is dropping them on the zoom. In my experience anyway!

I broke the light sensor on my Olympus compact.

I can't afford a SLR. I'd have to have years and years on warranty.

I need one for work. haha. Thankfully lots of other pros seem to have battered ones, so i feel less daft.
