I, too, am shedding tears for your beautiful Gelert. Reading your posts, I can feel your pain so clearly and felt just that way last year when going through the same thing I wish there were words that could take some of that pain burden away, but we all know there is not I am glad that you have your husband and daughter to help you through this, and keep in your mind that the reason it hurts so much is because Gels meant so much to you.

RIP beautiful girl. You will never be forgotten x

Aww, I am so sorry for you and your family - it is always such a shock, even when planned. My thoughts are with you at this very sad time. What a lovely send of she had surrounded by love, something many of our dogs/us don't get. My favourite poem which I am sure you will have seen, but your OH may not have:
If it should be that i grow weak
and pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done,
for this last battle cant be won.
you will be sad, i understand
dont let your grief then stay your hand.
for this day, more than all the rest,
your love for me must stand the test.
weve had so many happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears.
youd not want me to suffer so;
the time has come.. to let me go.
take me where my need they'll tend,
and please stay with me till the end.
hold me firm and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.
i know in time that you will see,
the kindness that you did for me.
although my tail, its last has waved
from pain and suffering, ive been saved.
please do not grieve-it must be you
who had this painful thing to do.
weve been so close, we two, these years!
dont let your heart hold back the tears.

Run free Gelert.
