Virgin media & Sky

What do all the Virgin media customers think to the feud against Sky? (With regards to loosing the sky channels).

Apparently from this Wednesday we will loose the sky channels.
I can't find anywhere that Virgin Media have said the date, but on their message board it says it's from this Wednesday.

Who will be swapping from VM to Sky, or freeview?
Why would VM want to loose so many customers?!

Thats what most people are mad about Random - there are nearly 500 pages of comments on VM's website about it all.
I'll be furious, and think about switching to Sky, so we can get Sky 1.

I will drop Virgin like a hot rock Heather!!!

I watch Sky One so why should i pay for a service when im not getting the channels i actually want? Murdoch and Branson need their heads knocking together cause lets face it-both of them can afford to cut each other and us users a bit of slack! Rupert Murdoch isnt excally short of a few bob either so him doubling the charges was just plain greed.

Virgins bloody mindness though could backfire on Sky cause its cable tv which owns the UK gold etc channels and they could withdraw them from the satellitte line up if they really wanted to.

ps.If i opt for Sky and cancel Virgin-does this mean im loosing my virginity...:smt005

Virgin say their new channel makes up for it all! (the one where you can watch a few series of things for free!!)

I will drop virgin too Steve, but will be sad to have to pay more for sky!!

Yep, you'll be loosing your virginity!

I never watch Sky One so no loss here. There is talk of a £9.75 a month rebate for 6 months if they lose the channels. The kids watch a few things but they can be found elsewhere before the date its screened on Sky One

Virgin are being ripped off after supplying Sky with their channels for 75% less than last time and then Sky go and double what they want for Sky One and a few others.

Thing is Heather-i could pay less if i change to sky.

Looking at my bill-i pay £31.50 for the XL package then an additional £16.50 for the movie channels.I also have broadband at £18.00,call waiting at £1.75 and my total monthy bill is £67.75

Could Virgin really afford for people to start switching to Sky..?

I've already checked and i can get a similar tv package from sky with movies for £36 per month so i think im gonna swap.

Yes, Virgin are being ripped off, but they are going to loose a hell of a lot of customers.

We watch Sky One a lot, but I don't want to have to download things and watch them on my computer, or waste discs to watch them once on the TV.

£9.75 rebate for 6 months isn't acceptable I don't think.
There should be a permanent reduction, as they aren't going to add the channels back after the 6 months.

Where did you read about the rebate Carole?
