One Of His Ears has flopped!! *Husky*

Ok, This morning out of nowhere his right ear has flopped! i've never seen this before, although i know it happens, i've tried looking it up, finding answers such as, cartilage could be broken (very unlikely as hasn't been roughed up, hurt etc)
or another was whilst he's teething??:S

Although i read some are genetic!
He's about 9/10wks now...Anyone shed some light on the matter??

Thanks xtiffx

I would pressume that is normal as he is very very young. Most puppies ears go through a variety of styles before they settle.

I am no expert on Huskys but I know many other breeds from puppyhood until adulthood can have ears that flop one day and prick the next until they finally settle as I say when they reach adulthood.
I would have thought they would be the same but I expect someone with more knowledge of the breed than me will be along to help soon.

Floppy ears occasionally occur in young puppies - especially those which have larger than usual ears. It is something which is also associated occasionally with teething. We had a pup 14 years ago whose ear flopped until he was about 4 months old, so I wouldn't worry too much about it unless there are signs that it has been caused by some physical trauma.
Also, in a huskamute you are dealing with two different ear sets, so, if, for example you have a dog with largish sibe ears with a Mal's wider setting, it might make the ears more likely to flop while the dog is young???????????????

Quite normal for spitz pups to drop ears when teething, don't worry it will come back up again.

Ours tend to be "up" from about 3 weeks. This was our latest litter at 5 weeks.

I think the larger the ears, the more likely they are to "flop."

Are his ears really heavily furred??

Furrier heavier ears tend to drop a bit more..
