Amber - Welsh Terrier x (Hope Rescue)
Amber is a welsh terrier cross of around 18 months (we do not know her exact age as she came to us from the pound) and is currently on foster in Abertridwr, South Wales.
The Amber Fact File
Dog status: Good
Cat status: Not in foster care with cats but passed her cat test
Child status: Good, can be rehomed with children over 5 years
House training: Currently at 95% and improving all the time
Home alone: Can be left for a few hours (has always had other dogs for company in foster home). Not suitable for full time worker
Basic training: Amber does Sit, Paw, Give, Down, Wait. She understands No and is very biddable
Amber is a real all rounder and would fit in to lots of different types of homes. She could be an only dog or live with canine comapny, with or without children, with a part time worker or someone who is around all day. She is a loving, loyal, comical, beautiful, clever little girl who would make a fantastic companion and playmate. She would fit very easily into most family scenarios. She will be looking for a new home who are active and will take her for lots of varied and interesting walks and also who like to play as Amber loves her toys and tugging. She loves her walks and her recall is good so would love a home where people would take her for a couple of walks a day and give her some off-lead play once she is used to them.
Amber has settled in very well with her canine foster brothers and can be rehomed with other dogs after introductions. She could be rehomed as the only dog if she has plenty of company and someone to play with her. She can get quite excited when she wants to meet another dog but not in an aggressive way – she just wants to say Hello and then she is fine. She has met loads of other dogs on walks and at fundraising events and just believes everyone wants to be her friend.
Amber is child friendly and could be rehomed with children over the age of 5 years. She has met children of all ages and been gentle and kind with them.
Amber has not been living with cats however she was cat tested at another foster carers home. She was well behaved and did not show too much interest in them. Amber could be rehomed with cats if very careful introductions were made.
She still needs a little work on her toilet training so someone who would be patient with her whilst she masters this would be great. She is very food-motivated and so very easy to train. Amber does Sit, Paw, Give, Down, Wait. She understands No and is very biddable
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK.
