Mo - 6 month old Staffie x Rottie Pup

Mo is a 6 month old staffie x rottweiler puppy and is currently on foster in Pontypridd, South wales.

Mo recently had an op on her hind leg and will not be ready to go to a new home until the new year. She can however be reserved in the meantime and homecheck organised.

The Mo Fact File
Dog status: Very good, would like canine company in her new home
Cat status: Unknown, may possibly be able to live with a cat
Child status: Has not been assessed with young children as she is in an adult only foster home. Could be rehomed with children aged 8 years plus who are used to dogs.
House training: Good
Home alone: Can be left for short periods without concern. Not suitable for full time worker
Basic training: Lovely house manners and has learnt the word 'no', her training has been hampered by her injured leg.

Our lovely Mo is a sweet, gentle dog. She led a sheltered life in her early puppyhood and her foster home has spent time making up for this, socialising her and showing her the world. Mo can still be a little shy sometimes and this may always be part of her nature. However, once she has had a sniff of a new person and had chance to make friends she is loving and affectionate. Mo has been assessed in an adult only foster home so we would not rehome her with young children.

Mo has suffered damage to the ligament in one of her hind legs and as a result had an op to correct this 'tibiual translocation'. She has been a wonderful patient and recovered very well from the operation. She will be ready to go to a new home once she is signed off by the vet in the new year.
Mo has been living in foster with an adult male dog who she has been brilliant with. Ideally we would like to rehome her with calm, confident canine company who can give her confidence out on walks and company in the home.
Mo can be nervy when she greets new dogs but does greet appropriately and is submissive and will lick their faces for reassurance. Once she gets to know a dog she is very playful and likes physical games.
Mo has not been living with cats but has met a couple without being overly interested. As she is still young it may be a possibility to introduce her to a dog savvy cat if this were done carefully and slowly.

Mo has been left for short periods by her foster home and has been calm and relaxed on their return. A crate was tried but she did not take to it and is currently left with access to a few rooms and is with Ollie her foster brother. We do not feel she would suit life with a full time worker but could live with somone who works Part time.

When Mo first arrived in foster she would shy away from having her lead put on and try to hide. She is much better now and is getting more confident out on her walks. Occasionally something will happen which makes her feel worried and she can stop or pull back away from it. Gentle reassurance and encouragement works and she is becoming much more of a brave girl.

Please note we do not rehome puppies to full time workers.

Attending training classes or private lessons is a condition of adopting any puppy from us. Please research classes and trainers in your area before applying to adopt.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered (if over 6 months), vaccinated, flea treated, wormed and micro-chipped prior to adoption. If a puppy is not old enough to be neutered then this must be carried out at the owner’s expense when old enough, and the relevant form completed by the vet and returned to Hope Rescue. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from the Hope Rescue Forum.
